CampusBridge Project

Purpose

The CampusBridge project, named SMOB, aims to address the challenges faced by international students, Erasmus students, and coordinators during the enrollment process at Thomas More. The existing system relied on scattered information across the Thomas More website and cumbersome email-based communication, leading to confusion and inefficiency. Our client requested a centralized platform to consolidate all enrollment-related tasks, eliminating the need for multiple emails. The prototype includes features for submitting school applications, applying for a buddy, applying for a bike, registering as a buddy or landlord, and a chat interface for direct communication.

Technologies

For the CampusBridge project, we used Figma to create the prototype, which served as the foundation for our development in PHP using the Laravel framework. We managed our workflow through sprints, tracked our progress using Jira, and monitored our time with Clockify. These tools ensured efficient collaboration and progress tracking throughout the development process.

Soft Skills

In this project, I enhanced my adaptability by adjusting to client feedback and evolving project requirements. I also developed strong collaboration skills while working closely with my team during sprints to ensure cohesive progress. Additionally, I practiced client communication, learning to effectively convey ideas and updates to the client to meet their expectations.

Role

My role in the CampusBridge project was that of a team collaborator and developer. I contributed to designing the prototype in Figma, participated in coding the platform using PHP and Laravel, and assisted in managing sprints through Jira. I also engaged in client meetings to gather feedback and ensure the platform aligned with their vision.

Documentation

The project includes detailed documentation covering the platform's features, such as school application submissions, buddy and bike applications, registrations, and the chat interface. We also documented our sprint progress in Jira and time logs in Clockify, ensuring transparency and organization. Additional materials include the Figma prototype and screenshots of our progress tracking, which can be expanded for further clarity.
